over the centuries (AP) had been ruled by several dynasties some are Ikshvakus, Eastern chalukyas and the Kakatiya etc.,
among these Vijayanagar kingdom was the most powerfull
one. In the 16th century the state saw the emergence of the qutb shahi dynasty which was defeated by mughals. In 1707, hyderabad came under the rule of Nizams. After independence, (AP) became the first state to be formed on basic of language.
